Amazon’s Prime Video has released a batch of first-look images of some of the Supes set to appear in its The Boys prequel spinoff, Vought Rising.
Amazon has kept tight-lipped when it comes to some of the details about its latest The Boys offshoot, but today’s reveal at least reveals that this 1950s take on its grim superhero universe will feature some vibrant outfits. Four names are included in the lineup of Vought Rising’s featured superpowered individuals: Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Mason Dye as Bombsight, Will Hochman as Torpedo, and Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel.
Vought Rising is said to explore the early days of The Boys’ nefarious mega corporation, Vought International, with today’s gallery providing a sneak peek at how this new era might differ from the present-day feel of The Boys. While some of the popular, modern Supe outfits fans know and love feature a grittier look, the outfits shown today come with reds, blues, and greens that really pop.
Soldier Boy, who played a prominent part in The Boys Season 3 and is set to return in Season 5, will sport a whole new getup in Vought Rising. His time on-screen thus far has seen Ackles wearing a dark green suit with faded gold accents, while only occasionally appearing with a helmet. Soldier Boy will be found with much brighter greens for Vought Rising, though, with the character now seen with a full coat and simplified mask.
Other names set to appear in Vought Rising as series regulars include KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith. Aya Cash is also set to star alongside Ackles by returning as Season 2’s Nazi supervillain, Stormfront. Additional details on The Boys prequel, including its release date, have not been announced.
The Boys is barreling toward its fifth and final season, as the crew behind the hit superhero show wrapped production recently. Homelander star Antony Starr waved goodbye to his time as the “complicated” character today, calling him a “monster” but admitting that he will “miss him.”
While The Boys Season 5 and Vought Rising are both without release dates, fans of Eric Kripke’s take on the gruesome comic book series can still look forward to Gen V Season 2. A trailer for the new batch of episodes arrived last month ahead of its premiere on Prime Video come September 17, 2025.
