Paramount+ has joined HBO Max, Netflix, and Peacock as the latest streaming service to drop its free trial offer. For years, the Paramount Skydance-owned service offered a seven-day free trial to new subscribers, but the streamer recently ended that deal.
The decision comes just weeks ahead of UFC’s debut on Paramount+. The MMA franchise recently sold exclusive U.S. rights to Paramount+ in a seven-year, $7.7 billion deal that removes UFC from its longtime home on ESPN+. The great news for fans is that UFC events on Paramount+ will not require a pay-per-view purchase.
Besides UFC, Paramount+’s sports content includes NFL on CBS, March Madness, and UEFA Champions League matches. You’ll also find hit series like Landman, Tulsa King, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, plus blockbuster movies like The Naked Gun and Mission Impossible.
How Much Does Paramount+ Cost?
Although Paramount+ no longer offers a free trial, it’s still one of the most affordable streaming services on the market. Two plans are available: Paramount+ Essential and Paramount+ Premium. Essential costs $8.99 a month or $89.99 for an annual plan, and Premium costs $13.99 a month or $139.99 a year. Premium removes ads on on-demand content, gets you access to all Showtime content, lets you download titles for offline viewing, and lets you stream your local CBS channel.
How to Get a Paramount+ Free Trial
Although Paramount+ no longer offers a free trial, there are a couple of hacks. DirecTV and Walmart+ both offer free trials and deliver access to Paramount+ in certain plans. That means you can get Paramount+ for free by signing up for a free trial to either DirecTV or Walmart+. Here’s a further breakdown of these two options:
Get Paramount+ Free Trial with DirecTV
DirecTV offers complimentary access to Paramount+ as part of its top-tier Ultimate streaming package. This streaming plan includes more than 185 live TV channels, ESPN, Hulu/Disney+, Starz, and HBO Max as well. It’s essentially an all-in-one streaming plan, and it costs $124.99 a month. However, like all DirecTV plans, the Ultimate packages starts with a five-day free trial that you can use to get Paramount+ for free for a limited time.
Get Paramount+ Free Trial with Walmart+
Paramount+ is also included in Walmart+, which is essentially Walmart’s version of Amazon Prime. The subscription gets you free, fast shipping on thousands of items, free grocery deliver, video streaming, and savings on gas, food, auto care, and other necessities. Walmart+ costs $98 a year, but you get a 30-day free trial to check it out first.
