PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson Share ‘Stateside’ Remix Music Video

PinkPantheress and ‘s worlds collide in the official music video for their viral “Stateside” remix. Directed by Charlotte Rutherford, the visual stars the two artists facing off in an intense battle of album aesthetics. It’s PinkPantheress’ glorious Fancy That tartan-patterned dream versus Larsson’s sequin and glitter-covered Midnight Sun spirit.

The singers play mannequins stationed in neighboring storefront windows. PinkPantheress’ room is a vision in red with guys lining up to snag mugs and magazines with her face printed on them. Next door, Larsson is selling vacation essentials: seashell magnets, beach towels, giant dolphins in case “Symphony” starts playing nearby. Soon enough, the power of “Stateside” brings down the barrier separating them. They’re better together, anyway.

“Stateside” debuted at No. 100 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Larsson was not originally credited on the entry for the viral single, but PinkPantheress assured that the adjustment would be made, posting on X, “Now Billboard….. Give Zara her flowers!!!!”

Larsson navigated another viral boom over the weekend for her response to recent misconduct from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Last week, an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, and just yesterday, another federal officer shot a man in the leg during an arrest in the same city. “I fucking hate ICE,” Larsson wrote on an Instagram Story post that comparatively listed some things she loves: immigrants, socialism, abortions, “slutty women,” trans people, and “criminals.”

The “criminal” bit got some people a little riled up. “People in my DM[s] are like ‘aahhhh criminals?!?!?!?’ Girl YES, heavy on that,” Larsson wrote in a follow-up post. Her boyfriend of nearly six years, the one she’s referencing when she sings “I’ve been touring stateside/Kissing my Swedish boy over FaceTime,” isn’t allowed into the U.S. because he “used to have a [criminal] record” in Sweden for weed possession. “It’s been so long since he smoked that spliff that it’s officially gone from his name and he still can’t get in,” she said.

“I’m just saying there’s thousands and thousands of people who go to jail and prison over none violent crimes like drugs, mostly black and brown people because of Ronald Reagan being racist in the 80s and fucking up communities,” Larsson continued. “Idk about yall but I’d rather have someone smoking crack on my couch than a fucking ICE agent ewwwwwwwww.”
